My thoughts: I received a copy of this from netgalley and Avon Books UK In exchange for an honest review.

this book was incredible, a fast paced page turner that would’ve been finished in one sitting if work and my need for sleep hadn’t got in the way, it was a 400 page book which can be a little daunting for a psychological thriller but it honestly didn’t feel like it.

Anna is driving her car with three of her colleagues in when they are in a horrific accident, killing 2 of them and giving the 3rd life changing injuries whilst Anna herself walks away relatively unscathed, this leaves her riddled with guilt and unable to sleep.

Unable to forgive herself and carry on with her life as normal, she quits her job, dumps her boyfriend and escapes to a small village in Scotland where she takes a job as a hotel receptionist. All seems to be fine until a week into her new job the first group of 7 guests arrive and weird things start happening.

This book had me on the edge of my seat throughout, I kept thinking “just one more chapter” and before I knew it I was half way through.

I don’t know how she does it but C.L Taylor honestly had me doubting most of the characters at certain points, the amount of times I thought I had it figured out only to be proved wrong is slight embarrassing but hugely impressive on the authors part.

I for one definitely never saw the story winding up the way it did!

This book is a must have for any fans of psychological thrillers ☺️

If I’m being completely honest, I knew nothing about this book going in, I had an email to tell me there was a new Sue Moorcroft book available and after reading ‘A Christmas Gift’ in December and falling in love with the writing style I had to give it a go.

This book is about Aaron and Clancy, Clancy is a city girl that’s had to leave her old life in London behind and get away, so she goes to Nelson’s Bar – we’ve all felt like we need a change of scenery sometimes, it was nice to read about someone who actually achieved it rather than just talking about needing to do it. Aaron runs some holiday cottages in Nelsons Bar and needs a new care taker for them… all seems perfect right? You soon learn that there’s more to this than you first thought though because they already know each other! – I won’t get into why because I don’t want to riddle my review with spoilers.

There are so many different characters in this story and each with their own story to tell, to begin with I was a little worried that it might become overwhelming and hard to keep track of, but it’s just done so seamlessly that you don’t even realise a new storyline has been added until you’re already in the thick of it.

Dylis was a favourite character of mine, my next door neighbour who was in her late 60’s was a very very close friend of mine until she died 8 years ago & I saw so many similarities between the two that it actually brought a tear to my eye. I also loved the unconventional set up between her and her husband Ernie, that brought a smile to my face because I’m sure it’s what a lot of people secretly want.

Harry and Rory were more firm favourites, their storyline was an important one, I feel like it was handled with care, whilst also showing the not so nice side to the way people can react when confronted with something that is outside of their ‘normal’ again, I can’t say too much without spoiling but I promise all will become clear when you read the story.

I both love and hate story’s like this because their standalones so you KNOW there is going to be an ending to the story, but I’m always left wanting more. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Aaron, Clancy, Nelson the dog or anyone else in the story. But all good things must come to an end.

Thank you Sue for writing such a beautiful story which I will probably read again and again.

Well today is officially the first day of spring here in the UK, and the weather is lovely! ☺️

It’s making me excited to be able to sit in the garden and read with a blanket and a cup of tea in the near future.

This is just a quick post really to firstly apologise for being quiet and not posting, it’s been a bad MS weekend, fatigue has been an absolute killer.

That being said I did finally finish Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy (review will be up by the end of the week.. hopefully) and I’m almost finished with an ARC of A Summer to Remember by Sue Moorcroft – I’m hoping to get the review for that one up either by the end of the day or tomorrow!

Night Light candle are a fantastic candle company that I found on Instagram about a year ago, when I found them they only did candles and wax melts, they now do other products such as tote bags and notebooks too! it is run by 2 lovely ladies (Jess and Bea) from their home whilst also working ‘proper jobs’ I have had so many candles and boxes from them and I have NEVER been disappointed with the scents or the quality of anything I’ve purchased.

March’s monthly box was the “bookstagrammers box’ everything in the box was geared towards readers and bookstagram and it was all perfect. ❤️

Firstly we have the “bookstagram” candle which has a personalised label, we were able to choose between our name or our instagram handle.

The candle has lots of scent notes, which had me a little worried when I read it, I thought it might have been a little overwhelming but omg is beautiful, it smells just like sour sweets, the crazy lemon and the pineapple are one the scents I smell the most, but it all works really well together 😍 – with the little wax heart though it might be just too pretty to burn.

Then we had “a book a day keeps reality away” now this is a quote that any avid reader can agree with and fits the theme perfectly.

This candle honestly smells like a Purple Rain cocktail and I absolutely love it, honestly one of my favourite scents that I’ve had from them (and believe me I’ve had a lot! 😂)

The added touch of the wax melt flower made me smile and again kind of makes me not want to burn it, but I will.

as well as helping Jess to run the candle company Bea also has her own art page and designs all of the artwork and bookmarks for the boxes, I’ve had a couple of art prints and a few bookmarks from Bea and the quality is always incredible. as someone who doesn’t have a creative/artistic bone in their body it honestly amazes me how someone could come up with designs like this, and being completely honest I’m a sucker for a good quote bookmark ❤️

My thoughts: I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book absolutely broke my heart in the best way possible.

I was crying by page 17, and sobbing so much that I couldn’t see the words by page 147.

I loved all the characters, but Ryan was my favourite, I loved the relationship between him and Alice, they just bounced off each other so well. I appreciated that Sarah showed that men and women can be JUST friends! 😂

A really hard subject to handle done in a beautiful way, I enjoyed every second of it.

My thoughts: right from the off this book was gripping, when you first meet Joe he feels just like you’re average man being distracted by a pretty girl who walks into his workplace, however you soon find out that you are VERY wrong.

He soon becomes obsessed with Beck, follows her everywhere and watches her every move.

This sounds like a strange thing to say but I genuinely found myself on Joes side for a lot of this book! – I wanted him to achieve his goal of winning the girl he wanted.

The story got a little slow and repetitive in the middle, but I kept going in the hopes that he end would make up for it and I definitely wasn’t disappointed – that ending!

I have started watching the Netflix series, I’m only 4 episodes in but so far so good.

I feel like I should introduce myself and share my story a little.

I have cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis and rely on a wheelchair outside of the house (hence the tagline 🙂)

I am forever reading and reviewing books and after a lot of pushing (or encouraging) from likeminded friends I have decided to bite the bullet and create a bookblog where I can share my thoughts.
